"Pretty good lumber overall"
So... I ordered a few boards and some trim pieces, and overall I was happy with what I got. The quality was good for the price. One board was a little warped, but I was still able to use most of it without any real issue

"Helpful service and decent follow-through"
I had a solid experience with Carter Lumber’s customer service. I’m fairly particular about how order issues are handled, especially when it’s something that can hold up a project, and they did a good job overall. I called about a mix-up with my order, and the person I spoke with was polite, easy to deal with, and didn’t make the situation harder than it needed to be. It took a little longer than I would’ve preferred to get everything sorted out, but they kept me updated along the way. Based on how they handled it, I’d be fine using them again.

"Helpful enough, but not totally sure"
I stopped into Carter Lumber and the staff was helpful overall. They knew the basic stuff and helped me track down most of what I came in for. One of the guys gave me some solid advice on lumber sizes, which I appreciated.
When I asked a couple questions about an installation issue, though, it felt like they were kind of guessing?? Not terrible by any means, just didn’t leave me feeling super confident. Average experience for me

"Uh, delivery was a bit slow"
Uh, the delivery took longer than I expected, but everything showed up in good condition, so it was fine overall

"I thought the prices were pretty..."
I thought the prices were fair, and the quality was just better than I expected. A few things were a little more expensive, but overall it was still worth it for my project.

"I’ve used Carter Lumber a handful of times..."
I’ve used Carter Lumber a handful of times to see what they had before making the drive over, and for the most part it’s been really helpful. Most of the lumber and supplies I was looking for showed as in stock and actually were, which saved me time and kept me from making unnecessary trips.
There was one time an item showed as available but wasn’t there when I called to double-check, so it’s not perfect. Still, I’d rather have that than go in completely blind. Overall, it makes the whole process feel a lot less frustrating, and when you’re in the middle of a project, that little bit of relief really matters

Everything showed up exactly as ordered, and I had no issues at all. Super easy experience.
